You can buy pre-made hummus from the grocery store or make your own creamy hummus using my recipe. This dish is easy to put together and will be a hit!

Tips for a Healthy Super Bowl Game or Potluck

Here are some general healthy tips to keep in mind for gameday or if you’re going to a potluck:

1-Eat regular meals throughout the day

Make sure you don’t skip meals just because you’re going to a potluck. Sticking to your regular eating schedule will help balance out your blood sugars and reduce cravings and overeating in the evening.

2- Bring a healthy side dish

It’s hard to eat healthy when there aren’t any healthy food options available. That’s why I recommend bringing a healthy side dish with you to a potluck. Examples include a fruit salad, veggies and dip, or this layered hummus dip.

3-Hydrate with water and be mindful of other drinks

It can be easy to forget to drink water throughout the day. Hydrate your body with water. Be mindful of sugary beverages, juices and cocktails that have a lot of sugar and little nutrition.

Mediterranean Layered Hummus Dip

Jazz up your hummus dip with this easy and flavorful Mediterranean Layered Hummus dip, perfect for any potluck!

Ingredients

  • 3 cups hummus
  • ½ English cucumber diced
  • 2 roma tomatoes seeded and diced
  • ½ large red pepper diced
  • 2 green onions diced
  • ¼ cup feta cheese crumbled
  • 1/3 cup Kalamata olives sliced
  • 3 tbsp Italian parsley chopped
  • 1 small jalapeno pepper sliced, optional
  • Pita or tortilla chips

Instructions

  1. Spread the hummus into a shallow serving dish.
  2. Add the vegetable layers, starting with the cucumber, tomato, red pepper, green onion, and jalapeno (optional).

  3. Sprinkle the crumbled feta cheese, olives, and parsley.
  4. Serve with pita or tortilla chips.
