Dietitian confession: I love chocolate and I know that many of you do too! So when it occurred to me that I could add cocoa to my oatmeal cups I was on it!

Oats are one of my go-to breakfasts because they provide a great source of energy and fiber for the morning. Adding chia seeds adds more fiber, protein and healthy omega 3 fats. Did you know that two tablespoon of chia seeds have 10 grams of fiber, 5 grams of protein, and 4 grams of omega 3? Chia seeds are packed with nutrition! It can be challenging to get enough omega 3 fats in the diet so adding chia seeds to this recipe is perfect.

These chocolate chip oatmeal cups are so rich, tasty, and nutritious. I used the same base recipe from my blueberry walnut baked oatmeal cups (also delicious) and swapped out a couple ingredients. The result: chocolate goodness that you can enjoy for breakfast or any time of the day. Enjoy!
