As a new mom I know how important it is to grow a healthy baby. Yet there is a lack of nutrition information provided by healthcare providers to women planning pregnancy or who are pregnant (ok, maybe like one handout!). Many turn to google only to find themselves on restrictive diets and in front of more conflicting (and sometimes dangerous) information. No wonder women are left anxious growing a baby!
If you’ve received the advice to just ‘take a prenatal’, you’re not alone! Unfortunately that’s just the tip of the iceberg for fertility and pregnancy nutrition.
As a Registered Dietitian who specializes in prenatal nutrition I help women prepare for and thrive in their pregnancy and beyond. My coaching philosophy is holistic, and involves looking at nutrition, movement, stress, sleep, labs and hormone testing (Dutch test), and supplements. I also practice from a weight neutral approach, which means the focus with my clients is on realistic, sustainable health behavior changes instead of a number on the scale. I emphasize a healthy relationship with food and self-care for mind and body. I also embrace a Mediterranean eating pattern and love helping my clients discover it too to reap the health benefits associated with this eating pattern.
